How I work
I am warm and professional counsellor with extensive experience of providing counselling support. I have primarily worked with clients in the private sector and also work in the public sector. I have worked in a range of settings with children, adolescents and adults. I use an integrated person-centred approach to my counselling to support my clients through a range of difficulties.
I am an understanding and non-judgmental counsellor who is passionate about helping my clients discover their full potential and overcome presenting challenges they may be experiencing.
I am committed to offering a warm and safe space for my clients to feel comfortable and to develop a trusting and positive relationship with me, which I believe is the important foundation for change to take place.
My clients are able to gain insight to their circumstances and I assist them as a supportive guide to empower them to realise this. It is through a self-discovery process that my clients experience an uplifting and meaningful counselling process.
A few things about me personally..
I’m a lover of life, nature, the beach and hanging out with loved ones. I think the secret to an enjoyable life is having a good support system, being mindful in the day to day events of life and being grateful for what we already have in our lives. I believe in order to live by these things, we need to have a healthy mental state.
I believe my life experiences, knowledge base and skills were developed over time to serve and help others in achieving a positive mental state so they too can lead a positive life.
Therapeutic Approaches
I tailor each session with my clients through understanding their personal needs and goals. I incorporate various contemporary models of counselling into my practice, including: Person-Centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, A Trauma Informed Approach, Mindfulness and Meditation.
I will use my knowledge and understandings of you and your situation to choose the best approaches that fits you the best.
